Rachel O'Connor

Therapist, Coach, Trainer

I started my career journey in Financial Services however after a few years in the job I experienced stress and anxiety and decided that I would explore the world of Psychology further and return to my roots, as my Bachelor’s degree was in this field.  A few years later I managed to secure a role in the NHS and started my training as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist.  Along the way I trained in progressive approaches including Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy; helping individuals and groups to let go of unhelpful thinking and behavioural habits and learn new skills to improve wellbeing and maximize happiness.

Whilst running groups with a focus on stress management techniques, I found that people were not only able to find new ways of coping and effecting change but also became mentally fitter and flourished in their home and work life. I felt inspired to bring these evidence-base techniques to the workplace to help people improve their wellbeing and productivity, and in 2015 Wise Self Wellbeing Consultancy was born.

I want to make resilience training fun and inviting and to provide a Space in the City for busy workers to take time to rest and reset their brains to be the best version of themselves – ready and raring to go and face the demands of the modern world!
